Neymar? Bianconeri?
In what would be the most talked about signing of this transfer window, it has been confirmed that Neymar Sr, will have a meeting with Juventus sporting director, Fabio Paratici. The reason for that meeting? The future of want away PSG star, Neymar.
Juninho as he’s know in his home country, hasnt returned to PSG for their pre season tour, has made it clear to the club as confirmed by coach Thomas Tuchel, that he wants to leave, and in a more recent interview, had a bizarre moment when answering a journalist’s question on what what his best moment in the locker room in his career, which he responded by alluding to a match that Barcelona put 6 goals past his current PSG side as his standout moment, sending shockwaves throughout world football media and certainly to Paris Saint Germain. It is no secret that Neymar wants to return to Barcelona and revive what was one of football’s deadliest combinations in what was affectionately known as MSN (Messi, Suarez and Neymar) however this seems highly unlikely as Barcelona have just splurged on Griezmann and De Jong and would not afford a straight cash deal that PSG have requested. The club wants to make back the €200m they spent on Neymar and have rejected Barcelona’s initial offer of €40m plus Philipe Coutinho and Ivan Rakitic.

The prospect of Neymar coming from the wing and feeding a central Cristiano Ronaldo could possibly guarantee 35+ goals a season and forge what would possibly become the most lethal attack in Europe, and probably the Champions League as the Bianconeri have also made it a point to sure things up at the back with the recent signing of Mattijhs De Ligt. On paper success is guaranteed but in my opinion the team would be the defining factor in either the success or failure of this Italian project and here’s why: Neymar left Barcelona looking to not only grow as a player but get out of Messi’s shadow, he wants to leave PSG now because of being in teenage sensation, Kylian Mbappe’s shadow but going to Juventus will also mean being in Cristiano’s shadow as CR7 is the main star there. However a 35 year old Ronaldo may still have 2 if not 3 years left in him which would then result in Neymar fully being the main man. Maurizio Sarri certainly has his work cut out for him as Juventus has a midfield and attack consisting of: Pjaca, Pjanic, Costa, Matuidi, Can, Khedira, Bentancur, Ramsey, Rabiot, Cuadrado, Benaderschi, Dybala, Higuain, Mandzukic, Kean and of course Cristiano Ronaldo!
What a time to be a Bianconeri!
